Oriel's BGCSE results investigated for cheating

Students at Oriel International School in Gaborone were left in limbo after their Botswana General Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE) results were not released.

Oriel International School is a private school where students who have failed in government schools pay to improve their marks, as hinted by the headmaster who refused to be interviewed. It is located at the Maruapula Shopping Complex in the capital.

According to the public relations officer at the Botswana Examinations Council, Spencer Moreri, the results were withheld because of alleged suspicions of mal-administration. Moreri stated that an investigation is currently underway and until such time that there is evidence that there were no malpractices the results will be withheld.
