Opposition up in arms over ballot paper crisis

The major opposition parties, the Botswana National Front (BNF) and the Botswana Congress Party (BCP), have indicated that they are ready to take drastic measures over the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)'s ballot paper crisis.

The IEC has announced that because of a printing error on ballot papers, polling officers could not cast their ballots on Tuesday as previously arranged.

The IEC was subsequently forced to reschedule the elections to October 16, when the rest of the nation goes to the polls, a solution that opposition parties argue will not work for logistical reasons.
