Opposition parties to lead demonstration

FRANCISTOWN: Three opposition parties will next Saturday 7th May lead a demonstration in solidarity with the public service workers' demand for a salary increment.

Confirming the demonstration, the secretary general of the Botswana Congress Party, Kesitegile Gobotswang said that his party, together with the Botswana National Front and the Botswana Movement for Democracy, would stage a peaceful demonstration in solidarity with the public service employees demand for a salary hike.

"As the three opposition parties, we feel that giving the workers only lip-service support is not enough particularly in the face of the casual attitude the Botswana Democratic Party government is exhibiting towards the workers.
