*Minister Masisi allegedly says committee has no powers to audit OP
*Thursday meeting with OP officials in limbo

A newly formed parliamentary organ, The Portfolio Committee On Governance And Oversight is being blocked from auditing the Office of The President after allegedly being told it has no powers to do so by the OP over the weekend.

Although on Saturday, one of the members of this organ, MP Dumelang Saleshando was still hopeful that their first meeting this week would go on, The Monitor can reveal that the Committee's familiarisation meeting with OP and its senior staff scheduled for this Thursday is in doubt after the OP official (name withheld) allegedly told the Clerk of National Assembly and some members of the parliamentary organ that Parliament does not have powers to perform oversight functions on the OP.
