Old man slaps nephew with P46,000 suit

FRANCISTOWN: A 71-year-old man dragged his nephew before the High Court to demand P46,000 as compensation for assault last week.

Self-represented Hunter Banyatsang told the court that the claim is for the damages he suffered on his body and the spectacles that his nephew, Thambane Badimo broke during the assault in 2006. "He hit me on the forehead breaking my spectacles," said the old man. "I also lost a tooth and the other one has cracked since then," the old man added.

He told the court that he suffered body pains from the punches administered on him by his nephew. He said he wants P40,000 for the damage to the body and P6,000 for the spectacles. The old man said things took a nasty turn after he gave his nephew notice to vacate the house that he was renting.
