Nzwaligwa Fumes At Bagayi

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) regional chairman, Nzwaligwa Nzwaligwa has told nominated councillor, Benjamin Bagayi to stop undermining her conqueror in the 2004 general elections. Bagayi lost to Evelyn Kgodungwe of BCP in Thakadiawa council ward.

Recently he indicated that he wants to contest the Thakadiawa council seat again. When he made the announcement, he said that he stands a better chance to win the seat. Nzwaligwa said Bagayi is undermining the integrity and intelligence of Kgodungwe as well as the town councillors at large by claiming that he is the best material for the council. "This is all wrong. He became the BCP councillor in 1999 but he sneaked out in the middle of the term because he had interests in Phikwe East constituency. So he served only two years and the rest of the term he was busy trying to establish himself in Phikwe East."

Nzwaligwa noted that the electorate were left in the lurch without a councillor and it was a battle for the BCP leadership to try to convince the people not to lose hope in the BCP. He said Bagayi should accept that he has been rejected and abandoned by members of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party where he defected to. He said Bagayi cannot compare with Kgodungwe and he is headed for a loss.
