Nyangabgwe doctor in corruption probe

FRANCISTOWN: A Nyangabwe hospital medical doctor appeared before senior magistrate, Thato Mojaji, on charges of alleged corruption and abuse of office.

Dr Asan Magendo, from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is alleged to have sold medication amounting to P500 to Girly Aaron illegally.

Giving evidence, Magendo said some time in February 2005, Aaron visited his office for consultaion. Magendo, a dermatologist, explained that Aaron had a cosmetic problem and not a dermatological one. Magendo said he prescribed Nivea to Aaron who dismissed this prescription saying that she had tried it already.
