Nyangabgwe boss roots for district hospital

He told a Francistown City Council (FCC) meeting yesterday that Nyangabwe is not fulfilling its role as a national referral institution because it is doubling as a district or primary hospital. He said that at the moment 60-65 percent of patients handled by Nyangabwe could be treated successfully elsewhere.

"This includes all patients whether they are outpatient or admitted. A lot of them could be treated at lower facilities," he said. He added that at the moment, the closest government health institution to Nyangabwe is Tutume Primary Hospital, which is a 100 km away.
