Ntuane In The Palm Of Khama's Hand

FRANCISTOWN: The wish of some Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) faithful in the Nata-Gweta constituency to field Specially Elected MP Botsalo Ntuane as incumbent MP Olifant Mfa's main challenger is likely to 'abort'.

Those in the know point at the BDP chairman and Vice President, Ian Khama's influence as a strong factor that has set the latest change of Ntuane's heart in motion. Although Ntuane had earlier wanted to please some Nata-Gweta lobbyists, Khama has prevailed over him and it will not come as a surprise that he could disappoint the villagers who view him as a more 'son of the soil' than the incumbent who is regarded as a 'dark horse' despite his popularity for many years.
