Ntuane defies BMD over BDP

Tomorrow the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) vice president and leader of opposition, Botsalo Ntuane will defy his party and attend the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

He told Mmegi yesterday that although the BMD executive committee resolved that the party should not honour the BDP invitation to attend the festivities in Gaborone tomorrow, "as an advocate of political tolerance, respect and peaceful co-existence I will honour this invitation in my personal capacity".

Ntuane, who was once the BDP executive secretary, argued that he shares a history with the ruling party.
