Ntlo ya Dikgosi meets Monday

The seventh meeting of Ntlo ya Dikgosi which starts on Monday is expected to elect the chairman and deputy chairman. The meeting is also scheduled to discuss about 36 questions and 20 motions.

The first week of the meeting will be devoted to briefings by different ministries and parastatal organisations, while the second week will be devoted to questions and motions.

Members will be briefed on a wide range of issues including environmental and tourism, youth, sport and culture by their respective ministries and departments. Some questions to be asked during the meeting includes that of Kgosi Mmirwa Malema of Bobirwa region who wants to know from the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, whether he is aware that Zimbabweans crossing illegally into Botswana are a threat to farmers and if so, the Minister should state what he intends to do to ensure the safety of farmers at the cattle posts and lands. Kgosi Malema also wants the minister to explain how he intends to accommodate these illegal immigrants.
