Gaborone lawyer, Gabriel Kanjabanga has ultimately lost his bid to contest the general elections as a Botswana National Front (BNF) parliamentary candidate for Gaborone North. This means that Lemogang Ntime, who was endorsed by the party leadership, will be the BNF candidate.

The Lobatse High Court dismissed an urgent application in which Kanjabanga was praying that the BNF should be ordered to call for primary elections in Gaborone North. 

Kanjabanga was also seeking relief that the party should be restrained to nominate anyone as their parliamentary candidate until after the primaries have been conducted.
