In an interview with The Monitor, a single mother of four, Tapiwa Obeilwe, 37, said that the German print dresses are regarded as special clothing and respected in Botswana hence can only be found from exclusive retailers.

Obeilwe complained that the Chinese traders affect their businesses negatively because these days they are selling everything in their shops. She said that German print dresses used to be considered very valuable; these days every Chinese shop has the material, though it is made of cheaper quality.
