Not all is rosy as Botswana celebrates Tsodilo hills' 10th anniversary

The surface looks glittering and glamorous as Botswana this Friday celebrates the 10th anniversary of Tsodilo Hills as a World Heritage Site.

Even the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA) is decorated with a huge 3D advert marking the 10th anniversary.  The celebrations were also felt in far-away Maun last week at a week-long workshop where tourism officials and operators discussed the value of Tsodilo Hills and other heritage sites as tourist attractions.

The climax of the celebrations will be on December 16 at Tsodilo Hills, where eminent persons including diamond magnate Nicky Oppenheimer of De Beers, Environment, Wildlife and Tourism Minister Kitso Mokaila, Myra Sekgororoana of Botswana Tourism, and hundreds of government officials are to converge to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tsodilo Hills as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
