Nostalgic Saleshando misses Kopano!

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Selebi-Phikwe West Member of Parliament (MP), Gilson Saleshando, has said he misses shouting Kopano! - the Botswana National Front (BNF) slogan.

Hence, he started his address at the General Freedom Square in Selebi-Phikwe over the weekend by chanting the BNF, Botswana Congress Party and the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) slogans to indicate that the three parties are serious about working together.  He then stated he has missed shouting Kopano!  Before he joined the BCP in 1998, the MP was a member of the BNF.  At the weekend rally, he called upon opposition parties to work together.  He said that cooperation is the only tool that can oust the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) from power.

"When the 2014 Parliament opens, there should be changes.  It (Parliament) must be made up of youth.  It is time that they are given a chance to take this country forward.  Those who are interested in contesting for both the parliamentary and council seats under the umbrella party (proposed by the opposition) must declare their interests now," he said.
