Non-formal education recruits teachers

The director of the department of non-formal education Mabunga Gadibolae has said that they will employ about 900 teachers by mid-next year. He said that the first batch of 650 will be employed by end of June next year.

Gadibolae was speaking to Mmegi after the orientation of 12 newly recruited teachers to pioneer a new curriculum introduced by the department.

He said that the employment of qualified teachers by the department is expected to smoothen the transition to the new curriculum. Non-formal education has been run by volunteers in education centres in towns. In the rural areas the students were mostly taught under trees.
