No groundwork for Tlokweng road closure

The contractor and consultant for the construction of the second bridge connecting Tlokweng and Gaborone have said there was an oversight when they closed the road they are working on without providing alternatives, thereby causing a massive gridlock during peak hours.

They told the Minister of Works and Transport Lesego Motsumi yesterday that there was no preparation for traffic going in and out of Tlokweng before the road leading into the village was closed.

They said they underrated the inconvenience the closure of the road from Village Filling Station to Tlokweng was going to cause to motorists. They added that they could have constructed a temporary access road but the problem is that there are too many services and structures encroaching into the road reserve.
