The registration of an Umbrella party comprising of the Botswana National Front (BNF), the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) and the Botswana People's Party (BPP) may be delayed for a while to allow the parties to consult further with their membership.

In an interview yesterday, BNF spokesman, Moeti Mohwasa was not in a position to state when the party would be registered. He also could not say  whether it would be registered before the commencement of the winter parliamentary meeting.

"It is a process. We are still consulting our party structures at all levels. We are distributing the party's constitution, policies and other documents, and we want the members to discuss the allocation of constituencies," he said. Mohwasa said the consultation process will continue next weekend at the BNF congress in Mahalapye, which will pave way for the registration.
