Nkate comes under DCEC scrutiny

The Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) is reportedly hot on the heels of former Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) boss, Jacob Nkate.

A week after his sudden departure from his lucrative CEO's perch at BEDIA, sources inside DCEC say the graft-busting organ will soon delve into investigations of Nkate for corruption.

"Even though we were not party to his firing at BEDIA, we understand that the former minister was shown the door due to internal misappropriation at the investment authority," says one source. "We are currently studying information we have received on Nkate."
