Ninety-two-year-old woman commits suicide

FRANCISTOWN: Tutume villagers are baffled after a 92-year-old woman was found hanging from the rafters of her house, in a suspected suicide last week.

Tutume Station Commander Vusimusi Jorowe confirmed the incident and said the dead woman was discovered hanging in her home at noon on October 20.  "Apparently, this 92 year old woman had climbed on a chair to reach the rafters where she then used a head scarf to hang herself," said Jorowe.

Investigations are still underway towards establishing why the old woman ended her own life.
Meanwhile, family and relatives have been notified.
