Ngwato Land board loses ranch allocation case

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Ngwato Land board has lost a ranch allocation case to Central District Councillor, Modisakgotla Makwati before the court of appeal in Lobatse.

The case, which started in 2005, arose after the land board withdrew a ranch allocation that was meant to compensate the civic leader for giving up his borehole to the people of Malatswai in Serowe North West constituency.

The councillor was convinced by the constituency office to give the borehole to the Malatswai community in exchange for a ranch and other compensation.
