NGOs to grapple with 4Ds

The national NGO week will be held in Gaborone at the Botswana National Youth Council grounds from June 15-19, 2009 under the theme "Dignity, Discipline, Development and Democracy (4Ds), our stake and contribution". Speaking at a press conference held at the UNDP head offices yesterday, the BOCONGO Secretary General, Reverend Mosweu Simane, revealed that the programme of the event will feature public debates on NGO policy dialogue, code of conduct, the 'Four Ds', gender protocol, Media Practitioners Act and the SADC Poverty Observatory and civil society input.
"We chose the 4Ds as the theme as they are the principles governing the development in the country and because we wanted to redefine the principles based on our own perspective," he said.
