Ngoma suit Dismissed

FRANCISTOWN: Acting Justice, Terrence Rannowane, has dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed by nominated councillor, Peter Ngoma, against Monarch South councillor, Ignatius Moswaane.

Both the plaintiff and defendant failed to turn up at the High Court and this compelled Justice Rannowane to dismiss the case. Former Mayor, Ngoma had engaged the disbarred Mothusi and Company while his Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) colleague had instructed Monyothwane and Partners. The attorneys also did not pitch up.

Ngoma had wanted Moswaane, also a former mayor, to pay him P250,000 for defamation of character. The plaintiff sued after he lost BDP Bulela Ditswe primary elections twice to his archrival Member of Parliament for Francistown West, Tshelang Masisi. By then Moswaane was Masisi's campaign manager. Ngoma claimed that he had lost through defamation.
