New roads of Old Naledi lead to new frustrations

Mmegi Reporter BAME PIET and Photographer MORERI SEJAKGOMO drove on the streets of Old Naledi on Wednesday afternoon to check progress on the facelift of one of Gaborone's oldest and poorest locations. He finds out that the new roads have not in anyway changed lives in Old Naledi

From the looks of some structures, the complex was probably built in the late 60s or 70s when the location was established. Modise is in a small office of a well-stocked supermarket, probably run by the beared man of Indian origin she is conversing with and processing some documents. We brief her on our mission, or rather, the purpose of our visit and she has no problem with showing us around, perhaps she has been waiting for this moment to share her frustrations about the project.
