New 'Old Naledi' Shines

Gaborone City Council says 'it is unlikely' that the relocation of Old Naledi residents to Block 7 will adversely affect property value there.

As they relocate from the poorest location in the city to an up-market site surrounded by the Botswana Television (Btv), Limkokwing University, and the prestigious Universal Estate, there have been fears that the new residents will import the cheap structures associated with Old Naledi into the neighbourhood.

However, Dizzy Mpoloka, the Principal Housing Officer at the Gaborone City Council says there is nothing to fear as the council has advised individuals about how they can erect attractive homes at the new site.
