New BDP Youth League chiefs resign

Exactly three days to the first anniversary of the Botswana Democratic Party (BPD) Youth League leadership mass resignation, eight members of the new team have resigned, rendering the structure dysfunctional once again.

The eight quit in protest at what they have said is an "attempt to muzzle freedom of speech" within the ruling party ranks.

Youth League vice-chairperson, and one of the eight, Kopo Mononi, confirmed their resignations to Mmegi in Gaborone yesterday.
