Ndadi slams teachers for trysts with students

MAUN: The Director of the Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS, Uyapo Ndadi, has expressed concern over the prevalence of trysts between teachers and students.

Addressing a meeting of the Maun regional branch of the Botswana Teachers Union here last week, Ndadi said it was callous of teachers to exploit the impressionability and suggestibility of their callow charges for their own sexual gratification.

"I am aware that some teachers turn their students into girlfriends and boyfriends," he said. "This cannot be tolerated." Ndadi said sexual trysts between teachers and students were common at junior and senior secondary school levels.
