Nchindo lawyers want Slaughter, De Beers reports

The defence team in the Nchindo corruption case has pleaded with the state to avail the Slaughter and May Report together with the De Beers Confidential Report as they have a bearing on the criminal trial of Nchindo's son Garvas, and co-accused Joseph Matome.

Advocate Parks Tafa, for young Nchindo and Matome, told the Gaborone Village Magistrate's Court yesterday that the state has to try by all means to avail the two documents before the commencement of trial on April 6.

Tafa said that they (the defence) would need to peruse the two documents, which have been circulating in the media. He averred that the prosecution should get them from the relevant authorities or either subpoena De Beers or any other person who has the documents in their possession.
