Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Margaret Nasha has said government will not bow to demands made by Bakgatla-ba-ga Kgafela last Friday to review the Constitution or the Bogosi Act for their paramount chief to be a member of Ntlo ya Dikgosi (House of Chiefs).

She said that there are procedures that should be followed and the need for valid reasons for any law to be amended. "I am not convinced that there are enough grounds to review the law which was only passed yesterday," she said. She added that even the amendment of the Constitution, that brought 15 more members to Ntlo ya Dikgosi was done recently.

The Bakgatla ba-ga Kgafela demanded amendments at a Kgotla meeting the minister addressed last Friday in Mochudi. Speakers stated that they want only their paramount chief, Kgafela to represent them in Ntlo ya Dikgosi after the resignation of Kgosi Mothibe Linchwe. They said their Kgosi should be allowed to follow his career as a practising lawyer as well as to represent them in Ntlo ya Dikgosi.
