Nasha praises Limkokwing students

The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Margaret Nasha, has commended students of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology for extending a helping hand to the White City Day Care Centre.

The university in conjunction with Plascon through the Paint a Child's Life project gave the school, which is situated in a low income area, a new face-lift by painting the entire school and building a shade for the center's playground. Nasha was speaking at the hand over event that was held during the commemoration of the Day of the African Child under the theme 'Africa Fit For Children: Call for accelerated Action towards their survival'.

The minister said that the gesture showed the public that there is more to a university student than "being involved in mass demonstrations and destroying properties." She added: "We are grateful to you for extending a helping hand to these children." She stated that there is nothing more important than caring for children regardless of their background or social status. Nasha explained that the children from the center are at a growth stage where they are very trusting and can be lured by people for different purposes. "Children are not viewed as dependable anymore and that is why we hear sickening reports on rapes and incest.
