SEFHOPHE: The ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is worried by the narrow margin that won it the Sefhophe ward.

The ward has been a BDP stronghold for a long time but in the 2004 polls, the party won it by a 14-vote margin. The late councillor Seabe Morueng won the seat for the BDP ahead of Mokwaledi Bagwasi of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP). During a by-election last year, the ruling party increased the victory margin by three votes to retain the ward. The by-election pitted councillor Thatayaone Segona against Bagwasi.

Specially elected councillor, Elizabeth Kedikilwe, has expressed her displeasure over the narrow victory margin and pleaded with party members to start preparing for the general elections.
