NACA to share HIV/AIDS research findings

Beginning tomorrow the National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) and stakeholders will meet in Gaborone for a three-day conference during which they will disseminate their research findings on HIV/AIDS and related illnesses in Botswana.

Addressing the media in Gaborone yesterday, NACA's National Coordinator, Richard Matlhare, said their information to be disseminated covers 106 research findings. The second National HIV/AIDS/STI/ORID Research Conference (NHASORC II) will bring together representatives of districts, the ministries of local government and education, HARVAD and NGOs like BOTUSA and BONELA to share research findings that will unearth issues that have never been addressed.

"Districts are where things happen and research findings are recorded on a daily and monthly basis,"  Matlhare said. The findings were collected locally and should therefore help strategise on an effective national response to the pandemic.
