Mzwinila applies for bail

Edward Mzwinila, accused number two in connection with a robbery at Home Corp Furniture, yesterday made an application for bail when he appeared at the Gaborone Extension II Magistrate's Court.

Mzwinila has been charged for the robbery along with his brother Michael, mother Elizabeth Surtee and Happy Charumbwana.  Surtee and Charumbwana were granted bail when the case came to light.

Yesterday, Edward accused the prosecution of applying double standards, which he said, was contrary to the country's Bill of Rights.  He said he was baffled as to why the state prosecutors should want to discriminate against him while his co-accused Surtee and Charumbwana have been granted bail.
