Murder suspect hands himself to police

FRANCISTOWN: Murder suspect Tumelo Mothathego who absconded from trial handed himself over to the Central Police Station (CPS) yesterday. Mothathego had been out on bail but failed to appear for trial on Thursday last week and yesterday.

He came to the police after a warrant for his arrest was issued by the High Court.Mothathego is alleged to have murdered his 20-year-old Zimbabwean girlfriend Fortunate Moyo by slashing her head with an axe before smashing it with a brick. He later reported the crime to the police.

Meanwhile, Keneilwe Lophalo from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) asked Justice Moses Chinhengo to give her time to prepare the facts of the case as she had another ongoing case.
