Murder-accused BCP councillor granted bail

FRANCISTOWN: Murder-accused Councillor for Ikageng South, Tabengwa Tabengwa, was granted bail in his recognisance by the High Court here last Friday on condition that he does not interfere with witnesses.

Tabengwa is facing a single count of murder after he allegedly shot dead one Kabelo Motswedi Molalapata at his home in Block One on March 7 last year. Tabengwa spent two days in prison after Senior Magistrate Peggy Madandume remanded him in custody after his committal to the High Court.

Justice Modiri Letsididi granted Tabengwa bail after the state indicated it was not opposed to the petitioner being admitted bail.
