Mukokomani loses application for reinstatement

FRANCISTOWN: Justice Tshepho Motswagole has thrown out Selebi-Phikwe former mayor, Lekang Mukokomani's application to be reinstated as mayor of that town, with costs.

In dismissing the application with costs, Motswagole said that Mukokomani was not truthful in his founding affidavit. "The applicant was economical with the truth in his founding affidavit," said the judge.

Motswagole further said that the way Mukokomani did things when he was in office and when his position was threatened could amount to abuse of office.  He said that Mukokomani had no reason to call a point of order and he further criticised him for presiding over proceedings in which he was the subject.
