Backbench Members of Parliament (MPs) get frustrated when ministers fail to provide honest and adequate information during deliberations in the National Assembly.

And while they may know that a minister is not honest in his/her answer, they are unable to categorically say so, as only the minister or his permanent secretary would have the information that they want kept away from the public, Maun West legislator Tawana Moremi said last week.

He was speaking at a breakfast seminar on the draft Freedom of Information Act (FIA), organised for MPs by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) in Gaborone.
