FRANCISTOWN: Member of Parliament for Francistown South, Wynter Mmolotsi has condemned the Botswana Democratic Party government for the way it has dealt with the public services strike.

Addressing striking workers on Monday at Chedu Choga grounds Mmolotsi alleged that while they were holding crisis meetings in Gaborone, Khama and his cabinet, including Mokgweetsi Masisi, were in Kaudwane playing with motorbikes. When he got back to Gaborone, he just went to the football game (between Botswana and Malawi), the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) MP said.

Mmolotsi told the striking workers that they were at a dead end because of Khama whom he desribed as arrogant with despotic tendencies who has no respect for parliament, the cabinet and even the country’s clergy. He said it is strange that Khama should ask that essential service workers apologise first before they are reinstated. Mmolotsi asked why others have to apologise to him every time.  "The other time when there was a fall-out with Gomolemo Motswaledi (which resulted in Motswaledi leaving to form the breakaway BMD), he wanted him to apologise. For what?" Mmolotsi asked.
