MP decries trade in stolen livestock

BOBONONG: Bobirwa MP, Shaw Kgathi has warned farmers involved in an illegal trade in cattle and donkeys across the boarder with Zimbabwe to stop.

Speaking during the Foot and Mouth (FMD) updating meeting last Sunday, Kgathi said some farmers habour Zimbabweans in their cattle posts who act as informers to their counterparts in Zimbabwe.

He noted that they have received reports that some locals also sell stolen cattle and donkeys across the border with Zimbabwe. "Such people face serious action once investigations are complete. We are going to put this type of illegal trade to an end," threatened Kgathi.
