MP calls for safe road use during festivities

PALAPYE: The Member of Parliament (MP) for Palapye constituency Master Goya urged people to use the road safely during the festive season to reduce road accidents.

Speaking during a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund Traffic Safety Campaign in Palapye at the bus rank on Saturday, Goya said a majority of road accidents in Botswana occur mostly in towns and cities with fatalities and serious injuries recorded along the A1, A2 and A3 roads.

He added that Serowe policing district has the highest road carnages.  Serowe policing district has recorded 10 fatal traffic accidents that have claimed 17 lives and left 41 seriously injured, he pointed out.
