GANTSI: An opposition MP has accused the Botswana government of paying P75 million to certain countries to turn them against Basarwa rights activists, Roy Sesana and Jumanda Gakelebonye.

The claim was made by Philip Khwae, the Kgalagadi North UDC MP, who told a political rally in Charleshill recently that the money has been channelled to the wrong cause. He was speaking at the launch of the UDC parliamentary candidate for Gantsi South, Motsamai Motsama.

He accused area MP and Agriculture Minister, MP Chrstiaan De Graaf of failing the people of Gantsi North, especially the agricultural sector as standards have gone down. “When we call De Graaf to Parliament to come and answer questions related to agriculture, he literally refuses and comes up with flimsy excuses like he is ill. He runs away. We are left with no option but to one day drag him to Parliament,” Khwae said.
