Mozambican Accused Let Off The Hook

FRANCISTOWN: Francistown magistrate Fortune Mukoma has warned police against arresting people at random.

This follows a case of a Mozambican, who was facing a charge of obtaining by false pretences, who had charges against him thrown out by the court.

The issue that was debated at length by the magistrate and the prosecutor ended with the accused walking to freedom, leaving the police trying to find another charge to lay against him. In the meantime, the accused is a free man. Eugenia Samal Jangwe, 41, and his co-accused were brought before court for allegedly using a credit card that did not belong to them.
