Moupo issues warning on democracy

The president of the Botswana National Front (BNF), Otsweletse Moupo, has warned that democracy will no longer be guaranteed if they vote back the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in the forthcoming general elections.

"We should defend democracy by not voting for the BDP," Moupo appealed. He said the most important thing is to  protect democracy,  which is under threat from President Ian Khama.

Addressing a political rally at Maruapula on Sunday to launch the BNF parliamentary candidate for Gaborone Central, Kagiso Thutlwe, Moupo said since Khama took over, Botswana's democracy has been in the intensive care unit.
