Moupo bad for BNF - Modubule

LOBATSE: In what is reminiscent of the 2003 internal fighting that led to the formation of the New Democratic Front (NDF), the Botswana National Front (BNF) expelled MP, Nehemiah Modubule, and others continue to hold political rallies under the banner of the BNF despite being kicked out of the party.

On Sunday, Modubule defied the odds and held a BNF political rally with expelled Mosolotshane ward councillor, Mogalakwe Mogalakwe. The agenda of the rally was a war on the party leader, Otsweletse Moupo, whom they accused of driving the party into the wilderness, operating through cronies.

The rally was nearly cancelled after Moupo's loyalists in Lobatse reported Modubule to the police saying that he had no right to use the BNF name as he was no longer a BNF member. However, Modubule managed to explain his way out by arguing that he was still a BNF member because he had not received anything informing him of his expulsion from the party.
