Motswaledi fails to clear Serema issue

The secretary general of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Gomolemo Motswaledi has refused to say who has the authority to appoint the partys executive secretary after President Ian Khama unilaterally extended the contract of the incumbent, Dr Batlang Comma Serema.

 Under normal circumstance, the BDP executive secretary has been appointed by the secretary general after consultations. But this time round, Khama is said to have personally authored a letter renewing Seremas contract without even consulting Motswaledi.
