Motsamai Mpho: a living archive

MAUN: Former South African apartheid era freedom fighter and Botswana veteran politician, Motsamai Mpho, has been labelled one of the few living archives to the lost segment of the history of the Wilgespruit Fellowship Centre (WFC) near Roodepoort, South Africa.

At present the 90-years old sage is scribbling his memories of how he and other freedom fighting visionaries set up the centre. In a letter that the widow of one of the founders of WFC, Reverend Dale St John White, Leticia White 86 says to Mpho, "My husband passed on in October 2007.

"Now it is left to me and others who have passed as pilgrims through this property to capture the human journey of so many past friends, visitors and colleagues in their pictures, in writing or video. This, I am in the process of doing," Mpho promises.
