Mothibe Tells Khama To Marry

President Ian Khama was invited to drape the new Bakgatla paramount chief, Kgafela Kgafela II with the leopard skin, and then listened as Bakgatla royalty told him in front of multitudes, to get married and bear children like a real paramount chief.

The message might not have been delivered directly to the Bangwato paramount chief but any discerning ear could tell whom it was meant for.

Speaking shortly after the coronation, Bakgatla regent, Kgosi Mothibe dedicated a chunk of his speech to castigating paramount chiefs that do not have wives and children. He stated that a paramount chief must have a wife and congratulated the new Bakgatla paramount chief for getting married and bearing three children.
