FRANCISTOWN: Monarch South councillor Ignatius Moswaane has had to ward off accusations that he has already started campaigning for the upcoming Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary primaries in Francistown West.

This is despite the fact that the party has not yet authorized interested parties to start campaigns.

The councillor has reportedly applied to Tsholetsa House to contest the Francistown West parliamentary seat against the incumbent, Tshelang Masisi. Insiders say Moswaane was spotted in locations such as Blue Town, Kgaphamadi and Monarch canvassing for votes under the pretext that he is selling the policies of President Ian Khama's government. Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) councilor for Monarch West Raoboy Mpuang this week accused Moswaane of campaigning in his ward.
