Money Only Can't Solve HIV Problem

The acting German ambassador to Botswana, Karl-Heinz Hoefinger, says money alone cannot be the solution to spiralling HIV infection in Africa.

Hoefinger, the guest speaker at HIV related drama competition for vocational training institutions at Maitisong in Gaborone on Friday night, said his country has adopted a US$60 billion programme to fight HIV-AIDS and strengthen health systems in Africa, adding that by 2015 Germany will have provided 4billion Euros.

He said the EU, which Germany chaired early this year is increasing its funding to combat HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
