Molepolole water wastage worries WUC

The Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) is worried about the wastage of water arising from massive leaks and burst pipes in Molepolole.

Addressing a stakeholders' meeting in Molepolole yesterday, WUC General Manager, Boitumelo Kgaodi, said that they record about 32 percent of potable water that goes to waste or simply cannot be accounted for.

The wastage is due too old, small pipes that break due to increased water pressure, she said adding that the corporation receives about 200 burst pipes a month while others remain undetected underground.
